Neigiama Trumpo įtaka mokslo pasauliui tęsiasi: CERN suspendavo mokslininką nes jis pasakė kažką neįtikusio Trumpui.

Juokauju, aišku. Mokslininkas suspenduotas, nes neįtiko tolerastinėms atmatoms, kurioms CERN'as kažkodėl nusprendė pataikauti.

- o kaip su Lietuva? Citatos:

a) "nebus geros dramos be melo dramos",
b) "neste degalai neteršia CO2",
c) "prognozuojame: Lazdijuose saulėkaitą, o Druskininkuose liūtis".

Paaiškinimas:

a) teiginys nepagrįstas nei "melo dramos", nei "melodramos" atžvilgiu.
b) CO2 yra būtina komponentė visos augalijos augimui, taršą sudaro sieros bei fosforo oksidai ir smalkės CO.
c) Oro prognozės nėra tokios tikslios, kad galėtų būti skirtingos tokios mažos Lietuvos taip artimiems miesteliams.

For the past year scholars James Lindsay, Helen Pluckrose, and Peter Boghossian have sent fake papers to various academic journals which they describe as specialising in activism or “grievance studies.” Their stated mission has been to expose how easy it is to get “absurdities and morally fashionable political ideas published as legitimate academic research.”

To date, their project has been successful: seven papers have passed through peer review and have been published, including a 3000 word excerpt of Adolf Hitler’s Mein Kampf, rewritten in the language of Intersectionality theory and published in the Gender Studies journal Affilia.

According to a new Reuters report, Amazon spent years working on a system for automating the recruitment process. The idea was for this AI-powered system to be able to look at a collection of resumes and name the top candidates. To achieve this, Amazon fed the system a decade’s worth of resumes from people applying for jobs at Amazon.
According to Reuters’ sources, Amazon’s system taught itself to downgrade resumes with the word “women’s” in them, and to assign lower scores to graduates of two women-only colleges. Meanwhile, it decided that words such as “executed” and “captured,” which are apparently deployed more often in the resumes of male engineers, suggested the candidate should be ranked more highly.
The team tried to stop the system from taking such factors into account, but ultimately decided that it was impossible to stop it from finding new ways to discriminate against female candidates.

Belgijos karinės aviacijos nuotykiai
a technician was working on an F-16 when he accidentally activated the six-barrels 20mm Vulcan M61A-1 cannon of that F-16. The cannon was loaded and some bullets hit another F-16AM (FA-128). That aircraft had just been refuelled and was – together with another F-16 – being prepared for a (training) mission. Due to the bullets, the F-16AM exploded and damaged the other F-16.
